May it be Ilish Bhapa, Bhetki Bhapa, Pabada Sorish or Parse Jhol, Sola Ana Odiya has the largest collection of fish varieties on offer in town. Likewise in Mutton and Chicken, the restaurant serves them cooked with the ingredients which are typical of the coastal belt of Orissa. Sola Ana Odiya completes its wide gamut of sea food offerings with Crab Curry and Pomfret preparation which are finger licking good.
In the vegetarian section, you will get to select from almost all the available varieties of curries and bhajas so integral to an Oriya Meal cooked with a diligence which will leave you ordering for more. Whether its Dahi Baigana or Dahi Potol, Manja Rai or Aloo Bhaja, Sola Ana Odiya is diversity personified with the choices it offers.
Another trademark offering from the restaurant is Ghee Bhat and Macher Matha Diya Mung Dal which are chosen favorite of many diners. Anyone who has tried it once has instantly liked it. Odiya food review from a Mumbaikar’s perspective
The traditional luchi (flour bread deep fried in oil) is light and tastes great. For non-calorie-conscious food lovers like me, it can be a perfect combination with aloo poshto or bhaja. The ghee rice n yellow dal is sinfully rich and yet homely to let you experience the flavour of ghar-ka-dal-chawal with a yummy Odiya twist. All the chhena (ricotta cheese) dishes are great too and so are the chhenna sweets. The simple yet sumptuous meals can be concluded with a delightfully ghee-laden Malpua (sweetened deep-fried mixture of flour and bananas) or the traditional Rosogullas (cheese dumplings dipped in sugar syrup) to bring a grand end to the typically Odiya indulgence!
A must-try-out restaurant if you visit Bhubaneswar or if you already live there and haven’t yet been to the place. Enjoy the food and live life king-size...A royal thumps-up from us XIMBians!!
